A strip of tattered lace edged the lakePosted by Maxine (Rangiora, New Zealand) on 3 August 2008 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio. On the west coast the rainfall is high and the mountains divulge quantities of gravel raising the river and lake levels, causing flooding and drowning of the beech and rimu trees. This gives the forest a tattered look- some live trees ,some dead, it is all part of what is to me the real West coast. I do not always get to check my site every day , so i apologise for not commenting immediately, but i do generally check in 3-5 times a week so your comments are always viewed and appreciated.
