Black mountains, white mist.

Taken as the sun defrosted the ice in deep forest gully, Arthurs Pass National park NZ.This trip was absolutely magical. The mountains were sihlouetted, the power poles wonky, and the mist seeped upwards.

I do not always get to check my site every day , so i apologise for not commenting immediately,but i do generally check in 3-5 times a week so your comments are always viewed and appreciated. A very dark and mysterious shot Maxine, I can feel the atmosphere and it can get very wild in Arthurs Pass. Great capture:-))

@Ron: Yes , I am sure my husband didnt think we were even going to get half way to our destination, I was like a child in a sweet shop. So many pictures to take!

@willow: It certainly drew us in, I got Richard to pull over as the mist just started to rise and over the next 10minutes it intensified into this, awe inspiring to watch, humbling to catch on camera. Thanks Willow.
