The golden hue.

Across the paddock the distance is divided into layers by the light effects and mist with a golden hue.

I do not always get to check my site every day , so i apologise for not commenting immediately,but i do generally check in 3-5 times a week so your comments are always viewed and appreciated. @Calusarus: Yes Calasarus well spotted! The photo was taken in the morning 0830 hrs in winter. We had been on the road for2hours taking photos.

@Linerberry: You know C , I cannot remember I know the sunrise was absolutely spectacular and I will show the photos of this in a few days. It doe look like a Nor west arch.

Max, this is lovely, it reminds me of home, the light is wonderful here behind what looks like winter poplar trees? Beautifully captured!

I agree - the layering affect of the mist and the colors is neat. And i have to ask - What is a Nor west arch?

@willow: Thanks Willow ! A nor west arch is an arch of cloud that is formed by strong Nor west winds hitting the southern alps and then tumbling over and down into the Canterbury plains. North westerly winds are strong and warm and can upset some people.

I always like to know the time of day with a particular photo, it helps to give a true feeling. I'm guessing this one is morning, and displays the morning sun beautifully. Striking how defined the light is, with the foreground quite dark. Great rural image Maxine :)

@Observing: The light in NZ is strong and harsh and the English artists who came to NZ in the early 1900's really struggled to capture it. I find that photos are best early morning as this one was, and late afternoon.Thanks so much for looking in Mike.
