Richs of gold and silver

This image was taken in Central Otago the stormy feel and the golden light really attracted me, I believe this looks like a scene you would see in Scotland also.Silver grey skys and golden lands, creating a rich image.

I do not always get to check my site every day , so i apologise for not commenting immediately,but i do generally check in 3-5 times a week so your comments are always viewed and appreciated. Indeed it does... but this is lovely too with its natural tones. Have you ever seen the Lake District ? also mountainous, but completely green...!

@Observing: No i have yet to see the Lake District, we went from London across to Cornwall and down to Jersey.And a small area of Wales also. Just means i have to come back again I suppose! In the next 10 yrs, mortgage first!Thanks for your feedback Mike.

I love the moody and dark feel of this picture and the colors are beautifuly rich.... I wonder what season it is ?... I imagine the air is cold and moist and the wind is whipping around in this vast landscape...

@Roman: You are quite correct in your imaginings, it was bitterly cold the wind wasn't bad according to NZ standards but it was there.This was taken in Autumn this year.

Great composition. The fence posts in the foreground really complete the framing nicely. I haven't been to either Scotland or New Zealand, but if they look like this place I'm ready to go!!!! And in answer to your question, I found all the cacti at Matthei Botanical Gardens which is a wonderful place not far from my house.

fantastic landscape composition! really good light to build a nice mood... the low level clouds certainly complete the frame well and add a bit extra to the atmosphere!
