The warm morning woke slowly.

This was taken as the brilliant sunrise settled back to more mellow tones and the sheep stood to look for food. Taken from the rise overlooking Fairlie district. township out of sight down to the right.
I do not always get to check my site every day , so i apologise for not commenting immediately,but i do generally check in 3-5 times a week so your comments are always viewed and appreciated. Thank you for checking out my photos, please give constructive criticism as i want to learn from you wonderful people.

the elements are all there, but the processing flattens it by not bringing out the subtleties of the light. more could be had with higher quality software, which i noticed in yesterdays image as well. best...jerry

@jamesy: These were the subtle colors of this day, the brilliant ones were half an hour earlier and we were down the road overlooking a lake.I will post those in a few days time.Thanks for your feedback I must admit not knowing which of the images i took that day i like the best, but this one with the actual detail of scene wins i think.

@Linerberry: Yes the layers have it! that was what made us stop the car for more, even though we left Fairlie at 5am and had not left the district untill 6.30 due to the amazing sunrise! Thanks c.

@Calusarus: Ah Calusuras, the sky colors here can be very beautiful flame oranges and reds sometimes, this was after a flame red sky had started to fade.

@Observing: the best time, but the worst if you really struggle getting up! We had to be away early that day but ended up just making our destination in time because i spent an hour and a half taking photos! I dont do this too often Mike, sometimes on the early shift at work i am tempted to stop the car for the sunrise but know that i would be late ,so frustrating.

Great shot, I like how all the sheep appear to be looking at the sun on the mountains as well.

@Kenton: The sheep were just starting to get warm enough to stand and look for food, they were enjoying the warmth as well as the view.
