Burrholes in the rock

This was taken with the telephoto lens across the valley to the opposite side. The shrubs growing inside the cavitys and crevices were about 1.5metres tall. I love the hole created by water I presume many thousands of years ago.

I do not always get to check my site every day , so i apologise for not commenting immediately,but i do generally check in 3-5 times a week so your comments are always viewed and appreciated. @timothy: Its actually hard to make rocks interesting, you just have to take lots of angles and look for the ones with the most graduations of shade.

@Charles: Trying to find things to give the scale of this place is difficult, so to find these bushes was great!

I wonder how deep those holes go, very interesting. But the main thing is you have green grass, and I'm freezing my butt here in almost -30 Celsius

@Roman: Roman I dont know how deep the holes go, I know there are rocks up to grade 7 in climbing difficulty here, but nothing about caving!

@jamesy: Yes , you see the Marlborough rock daisy growing out of the most barren exposed rock faces and cannot help but be impressed at its tenacity for life.
